Sky-high gas prices

Author: Shannon  //  Category: Gas Prices

At the rate gas prices are going, I’m getting worried that we’ll have to park our RV and never drive it.

I mean really… by the time we go to hit the road next year will the price at the pump be up to $5 a gallon?

Will we have to save up for months (or take out a small loan) just to afford the gas to take a trip somewhere?

Oh… and I just ran across this article about an Idaho couple who has been traveling for 54 years, but are now giving up their RV life because they can’t afford the gas.  Say it ain’t so!

And on Tuesday, oil reached $120 a barrel

When will the insanity stop?

I just read that in China, gas guzzlers are all the rage because the government has price controls on gas there. It’s just $2 something a gallon there. Price controls. Imagine that!

Yes, the price of fuel is a scary thought. We’ve watched diesel go from $2.75 to $4.19 in less than a year. We bought a diesel knowing that fuel isn’t going down, so at least when we land somewhere permanently (if ever) we can make our own fuel. Something to consider.

For now though, you can do what we do when you hit the road, and tell yourself . . . at least I’m not paying a mortgage or utility bills. When you add it up, even at $5 a gallon, we are still better off. At least that’s what we keep telling ourselves.
