My dad celebrated his birthday on Feb. 27th and I thought I’d take a few moments to think about how he has been there for me throughout my life.  So here’s to you dad for all the things you’ve done and all the things you continue to do.  Thank you for…

• Changing my stinky diapers when I was a baby
• Holding my hand when I was learning to walk
• Buying me toys
• Putting my trike together for me
• Helping me find eggs during Easter egg hunts
• Taking me trick-or-treating
• Buying me my first fishing pole and showing me how to use it
• Putting gross, slimy worms on my hook, teaching me how to work a lure and showing me how to bait a minnow
• Cleaning every single fish I caught
• Taking me camping, boating, fishing, swimming when I was growing up
• Racing me to the hospital 50 miles away when my foot got gouged by a rock
• Taking me to Disneyland
• Suffering through my teenage years (and forgiving me for every single stupid thing I did)
• Reminding me how special mom is whenever I would treat her bad
• Teaching me how to drive a stick
• Fixing all my piece-of-crap cars when they wouldn’t run
• Loaning me money whenever I needed it
• Walking me down the aisle on my wedding day
• Welcoming Scott into your life
• Proudly watching me graduate from college
• Giving me advice (even though I’m always too stubborn to listen and have to learn the hard way)
• Paying for my dinner when you don’t really have to
• Loving me even when I’m totally screwing up

I’m sure there’s so much more I’m missing, but I can’t go on forever.  Just know that I love you Dad and you mean the world to me.
