Several months ago I decided that enough was enough and I needed to make some changes in my life to get healthy and hopefully get back to the trim body I once had. My motivation is that I’ve been wanting to enjoy the outdoors more - like taking long hikes (and not getting winded along the way) or going on bike rides (without my heart feeling like it’s going to explode right out of my chest).
So I started by heading to the gym a few days a week. Nothing hardcore, just 20 quick laps in the pool each time followed by a nice, warm soak in the hot tub. Then I stopped eating red meat (greasy hamburgers and steaks were not helping my cause) and started drinking a lot more water.
That’s all I’ve done so far and honestly, when I look in the mirror it doesn’t seem like much has changed. But then I stumbled across these two pictures and suddenly saw what I couldn’t see in the mirror. Amazing how doing just a few simple things can make a difference.
